Behind The Design
Having a small budget does not mean that one must acrifice design. This is exactly the dilemma our client faced. The budget for this design was incredibly low, however, the beauty of mid Century design is that, if you pretty resourceful, you are able to find loads of mid century furniture for next to nothing. Some pieces may require upholstery however we were very luck to have found great pieces in pristine condition. For example, the sofa in the design is chenille. It was crafted in 1953 and had never been used. A wonderful craigslist find for $60. It just doesn’t get any better than that. We played with brass, gold and soft blue and gray hues. The end result was a mid century stunner with the budget in tact.
